I find this a funny question. Why? If you look at a group of kids left to themselves, there are always a few in the group who are born leaders. They’re the ones who decide what games to play, who’s in charge, what rules to obey, and who can even participate. It’s natural. Why doesn’t the church allow these natural leaders to be leaders today—in the church? When was the last time you saw a teen leading praise and worship? How about a young person taking the offering, or joining in on a church work team, or organizing a shower or meal for a woman in the church? Mom and Dad, we need to encourage our kids to lead TODAY, not tomorrow. That’ll prepare them for when it really counts when they’re adults.
