Are you the kind of parent who has every day figured out? Not just planned, but you’ve already picked out the clothes you and your kids are going to wear and how much time you have to get into those clothes? Guess what? There may be some real danger there. While many kids need structure, if you’re always telling them what to do, you may be preventing your kids from learning how to be discerning or a critical thinker. This can help. Set boundaries. Don’t just give them the rules—tell them why. Then, don’t be a hypocrite. Practice what you preach. Your example is louder than your words. Connect their decisions to Scripture. Then, walk your kids through the decision-making process. It’s training that could be life-changing.
