I wasn’t much of a reader. It’s not that I couldn’t. Both of my sisters love to read and I just didn’t think that was very cool and I WOULDN’T read. That’s when my mom and dad STRONGLY suggested I read out loud to them, or on tape, which is how I got started in radio. While I don’t mind reading today, I’d rather listen and follow along. I retain more when I do that. If your son or daughter doesn’t like reading remember that 80 percent of the world are oral learners. It’s not that we can’t read, it’s that we learn better another way. But don’t let that stop you from making your kids read. Bible study requires reading, even if audio Bibles help us through the tough parts.
