I can’t begin to tell you the number of people around me who are either going through cancer, beat cancer, or lost the battle with cancer. My daughter actually had one of her friends die from it. As parents, how do you talk to your kids about death? My suggestion: point them to Scripture. The Bible says that at death believers are taken into the presence of Christ in heaven. He’s there now. Jesus said to the thief on the cross, “Today you will be with Me in paradise.” That’s great news, and my daughter responded positively. Apart from Christ, that’s a difficult discussion. In those situations, I encourage people to have hope. Maybe they came to Christ through a dream or a vision—something. Can God do that? He does in the Muslim world. Why not here?
