The government. Sometimes we don’t always agree with our leaders, do we? What do we do, especially when our kids are watching? On one hand, we have Romans 13 that tells us to obey our government because God placed them in authority over us. It tells us to obey the law and, if you don’t, you’ll be in trouble—and, in essence, you deserve it. But, in Acts 5:29, Paul tells the Sanhedrin that the apostles must obey God rather than man. The answer is that we must obey our government leaders—until they violate God’s law. Then the responsibility is to obey God. This isn’t easy, especially when there are all kinds of social issues and laws that are contrary to Scripture. The most important thing: make sure love is involved. It’s not easy.
