Homeschool and regular school alike—it’s summer vacation. Kids, you’re ready for a break, aren’t you? Mom and Dad, you are, too. But, can we really afford to take time off from our studies? I’m not talking about reading, writing, and arithmetic. I’m talking about life lessons. While it’s important our kids not forget what they’ve learned during school, it’s important to be proactive about the summer, too. How? Give them a job. That’s right—a jobs. Perhaps you can split up the inside jobs. Give them something to do every day—not a lot—just enough to make them think about doing something before they can play. Then, pay them. When you do, make sure they give God 10 percent, save some, spend some, and be generous.
