“Does the Bible really say that?” That’s Betsyjo’s question. I’ve done a little bit of research. According to Ben Giselbach of Plain Simple Faith, that “is actually a direct quote from Gandhi.” Well, even though he was Hindu, does that mean it’s wrong? I don’t think so. Mom and Dad, the Bible teaches us that “God hates sin”—it’s clear in Psalm 5 and Proverbs 6, Giselbach explains. Why? “Because He is holy”; but that’s not the only reason—it’s “because sin separates us from Him.” As parents, we have an obligation to call sin what it is and teach our kids that it can only be fixed through a relationship with Christ alone. When they disobey us, it hurts our relationship. But, in Christ, that sin is as far as the east is from the west.
