There may be no more difficult experience as parents who don’t see eye to eye when it comes to disciplining their kids—for kids, it’s like a shark’s reaction to “blood in the water.” It’s like a feeding frenzy. They’re going to do everything possible to take advantage of it. Mom and Dad, if we don’t agree with each other, it’s going to present a major problem in our families. Kids are going to pit one parent against the other and then it’s over—authority means nothing to them. So, are your kids going to wear shorts to school? Mom says yes; Dad says no. Can they watch PG movies? What kind of music can they listen to? A piece of advice: decide together BEFORE your kids decide for you. Sticking to your guns together will stop the battles.
