One of the hardest things in grandparenting is watching our grandkids fail both physically and spiritually. Many grandparents, like hovering parents, want to step in and do something about it—to fix it. Grandparents, we can’t do this every time. I love my grandkids. After all, the reason we let our kids live was for this season in life, right? Even though we love and want to spoil them, we can’t feed their addiction to entitlement and lack of respect. Sometimes it’s better to let mom and dad deal with it, while you stand in the background praying and loving these wayward kids unconditionally—but don’t give in. Some of the biggest lessons in life come when we’ve reached our lowest point. Perhaps God is using you to bring these kids to Himself.
