Race has become a HUGE issue in the United States over the last six or seven years—although race has really been an issue in the U.S. for a lot longer than that, especially if you’re a minority. But the question I have is this: “How are we dealing with this issue with our kids?” Black, or white, or another skin color—as Christians, we have a responsibility to model for our kids love for ALL people. Parents, let’s reach out to people different than we are and become their friends. That’s the premise of evangelism, isn’t it? As we model this to our kids, they’ll see the value and the blessing of human diversity in our culture. Romans 10:12 says, “There is no distinction between Jew or Greek.” We’re all one in God’s eyes.
