My daughter is 17. The one thing I noticed about many of her conversations with friends is that much of their conversations center around fear. One of her friends said she was scared she wouldn’t get the grades she needed to get into college. Another said she didn’t think she’d ever get married. “Who’d want me?” she said. Another young lady was afraid she wasn’t going to make the basketball team, something she’s played since fifth grade. All of them feared rejection. Why are our kids—even Christian kids—afraid?  I’m guessing it’s because they’re not focused on WHO’S in control, our Heavenly Father. Well, guess what? Many of us are fearful too. Suggestion? Read Psalm 46 and 56: “God is my refuge” and “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.”
