There have been times in my life when I’ve felt pretty defeated. How about the time you’re told by your kids you’re not a good parent? Or when somebody you love says something hurtful to you, then they get mad because you’re hurt? Or what about those times you’ve felt like an utter failure? Those moments—they crush you, don’t they? Feeling defeated, though, is a decision. Purpose to defeat those feelings. Isaiah 41:10 is where I turn: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (MEV). Then pray and ask God to give you the strength for the next moment. You know what? He does it. Don’t let evil win.
