Barna research tells us the greatest percentage of people who give their hearts to Christ do so between their fourth and their fourteenth birthdays. That means we have about ten years to reach them before the percentages go way down. That doesn’t mean the Holy Spirit can’t reach them as adults. Another study says four out of five young people in that age group are looking for truth. By the time they’re fourteen, they have some kind of “truth” filling their hearts. But is it Biblical truth? We have to make sure that they’re hearing it from us. If you don’t do regular devotions, use Keys for Kids. It’s never too late. “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation” (1 Peter 2:2 ESV).
