Mark 3:25 tells us, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Parents, how many times have we argued in front of our kids about the kids? I’m the kind of person who wants to get a situation worked out right now. My wife wants to think things through. One particular situation there was an issue of discipline with one of the kids, and we were not agreeing. Unfortunately, I got loud—I call it passionate—but that’s bad. Our kids see division, and they use it. Worse than that, they see our hypocrisy and use that against us too. Those two issues can create a stumbling block in leading them to Jesus. But God can even use that in their spiritual journey. Apologize. Admit guilt. Seek restoration. Those are lessons for both of you.
