That dreaded “C” word. We’re all frightened by it. We know God is in control and has a perfect plan, but, in our humanness, it’s easy for us to begin wondering the obvious. Live or die? Pain or comfort? Or, what about family? A close family friend, my daughter’s mentor, was diagnosed with cancer. First, we told our daughter that God wasn’t surprised by it, our friend was spiritually ready for it, and we needed to be willing to walk through it with her family. The bad news is our friend passed away. The good news is she’s in heaven, and our daughter has been able to look beyond the pain and see heaven. Don’t avoid the conversation, though. While life is hard, God is good.
