Over the years, I’ve had opportunities to speak in churches. Some of those churches have allowed me to speak to their kids. One of the first things I do is I let the kids get totally out of control. Then, I say quietly, “Please, settle down. Sit. Could you be quiet?” Soon, there are kids in the group telling their peers to follow directions. That’s when I start. I ask, “How many of you think you’re leaders?” With few or no hands raised, I start pointing out the kids who got the group under control, encouraging them that they’re leaders now. As leaders in our own churches, what are we doing to nurture our kids? Most aren’t doing much. Would you start?
