Some parents will say, “that’s not abnormal.” But for others it’s not. Let’s face it, our kids are experiencing things unlike we ever did. Lockdowns, school via zoom, unable to participate in extra curricular activities, they can’t see their friends. It can be terribly depressing. WebMD.com says not wanting to get out of bed can be a symptom that things are going south. Other signs: social withdrawal, attitude change, change of appetite, low energy, and lack of concentration. If you’re concerned, talk about it. As followers of Christ, Paul tells us not to be anxious. Pray. Then, get them doing something. If that doesn’t work, get help. Call your church and ask for a recommendation for a Christian counselor. This may be just what they need.
