Our teens are nearly adults. In some cases, they act more like adults than we do sometimes, right guys? While they’re still kids, should we really tell them what devotional or translation of the Bible they HAVE to read? I know there are some circumstances where parents have to intervene, but is it when they choose between Francis Chan and John Piper? No. Keys for Kids is getting ready to launch a devotional just for teens. It’s called Unlocked. Our first beta-reader was released just a few weeks ago. And one parent said, “Well, it really doesn’t speak to me.” We’re not interested. But her son said, “This is good—I like it a lot.” As parents, our job is to teach our kids how to be discerning in all things, including personal devotions.
