I’m sitting at my desk NOT wanting to write another Parent Minute. It’s one of those days where I just don’t feel like doing ANYTHING. Been there? We tend to get caught up in the here and now. Then, I got to thinking, Hmmm, our kids struggle with this all the time. What do I tell them when they’re not motivated? Well, I go to God’s Word first: “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor” (Proverbs 12:24, NIV). And “hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty” (Proverbs 14:23, NIV). We need to admit when we struggle to our kids. You’ll eventually hear God’s Word—and yours—coming back to you.
