Summer is more than half over. Back-to-school sales are on. The days are warm, but getting shorter. And as a parent of a kid who struggles in school, you’re NOT looking forward to classes resuming. The battles are tough, aren’t they? You probably had plans to make sure little Logan or Kayla spent time reading this summer or doing math problems, but you caved to their objections. Well, it’s not too late. You can make it fun, too. Try encouraging them to read our Keys for Kids devotional. Or practice math by giving them some kind of incentive—25 cents a page or, “Hey, if you finish the whole book, we’ll go to an amusement park.” And remind them that it’s okay to fail and admit that YOU did by not following through on YOUR commitment to have them read.
