How many people in Scripture suffered and didn’t make it? We know the story of Job. He lost his whole family. I’m sure you can recall other similar stories in Scripture where people who love God didn’t make it. Because of the fall, bad things happen. But as Paul says, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” As parents, we can’t guarantee that all things are going to be pain free and easy. I remember a song by Pam Thumb called, “Life is hard, but God is good.” That’s the message to our kids. Life IS hard. It’s not an easy road. But God’s way, no matter the cost, is the best way.
