Sibling relationships. They can be difficult, especially when there’s rivalry in those relationships. Boys can be off-the-chart mean. That meanness can get worse as the sisters lash out, frustrated by it all. How do we help our kids work through it? I knew a young man who was angry all the time—mean as sin to his sisters. As I spent time with him, I quickly realized he was broken. He didn’t feel like he measured up to his older sister’s grades and athletic ability and his younger sister’s musical talent. He felt worthless. Find that ONE thing your son’s good at and praise him over and over for it. Then remind him that God created him for that very purpose—and that He loves him. It could make an eternal difference.
