We spend so much time finding the “perfect” gift, but nothing compares to the one God gave us. Romans 6:23 says, “The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” That’s the real meaning of Christmas—God sent His Son to rescue us. If our kids or grandkids ask us what we want this Christmas, tell them that we already have the greatest gift: Jesus. Talk about salvation as a free gift you can’t earn or buy. Maybe wrap a small box labeled “Jesus” and put it under the Christmas tree as a reminder. Let our kids and grandkids see that joy doesn’t come from things, but from knowing the Savior who left His Heavenly Father, came to earth die for us, so we can have life through His name.
