Do you ever feel like our teens are GLUED to their phones? Frankly, it’s not just a problem for our kids, it’s a problem for us, too. Phone addiction is really idolatry. I John 5:21 says, “Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.” People or things that consume our thoughts, words,
time, energy, or money other than God are idols. It’s easy to let our phones become the center of our attention and even our affection. But as Christians, we need to be careful not to let anything take the place of God in our hearts. As parents, we can help our kids recognize the danger of cell phone addiction. Encourage them to find a healthy balance between their phones, time in God’s Word and prayer, and face-to-face relationships.
