When we struggle with perfectionism, we constantly criticize ourselves for not measuring up. It’s easy to start believing the lie. I’ve struggled with it. It got so bad that I became angry. I didn’t even know it. My family had to tell me. The anger wasn’t directed at my family really, it was directed at God. Why did he make me this way? Why can’t I beat this? Then someone pointed out Ephesians 2:10. “We are His workmanship” or “masterpiece.” It’s even better than that, John 17:23 says in Christ, God loves us as much as he loves Jesus. Think about it. God created us and loves us as His masterpiece. Do the kids in our lives struggle with poor self-image? This reminder could be life changing.
