You’d been married for years. Your spouse grew up in the church. You thought you’d be married for life and now, through no fault of your own, you’re divorced. You’ve lost everything (including custody of your kids), and you’re not just hurting, you’re broken. Well, because of that, you don’t know what to say when you’re around your kids, your family, and what friends you have left. I have a special place in my heart for singles like you. I’m married to one. When we find ourselves broken like this, we have to do what we should ALWAYS do–lean on God and let our kids see it. No matter the situation, mercy, humility, kindness, and honesty may not be natural, but is a great place for God to work and make things good.
