You’re now a single parent. For whatever reason, God took your spouse and you find yourself trying to be a mom and dad to kids who are also trying to find their new normal. Frankly, there will never be a “normal”. You’ll always miss your spouse, and your kids will long for them at special life events and times when life’s tough. You’re going to make mistakes. You’re going to have days where you just don’t want to try not to cry. A friend of mine who is still going through it says simply, “Trust God. He’s the spouse, mother or father, He’s our All in All. When you lose sight of that, refocus your family. Do that with heartfelt prayer and God’s Word. Psalms are especially good.”
