Father’s Day. Yep, it’s one of the most forgotten holidays. One survey says 32% of fathers polled say their kids have completely forgotten about Father’s Day at least once. And even when we are remembered, we get things like painted rocks, “Greatest Dad” coffee mugs, or even Santa Claus ties; I’m guilty. But step-fathers, that’s even worse. You love your new family to pieces, but to them you’ll never quite be their dad, even though you want to. It took me awhile to learn this, but be okay with that. Be godly, show unconditional love, be ready to face heartbreak, but celebrate the little things. Remember, your reward’s in heaven. No card or silly coffee mug will over-shadow that gift.
