The spring and summer of 2020 has been one of the most difficult seasons in American history. Peaceful protests taken over by groups who are set on destroying communities. The cities of Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Portland, and Seattle have been hardest hit. Some families lost EVERYTHING—their home, their business. Others lost loved ones. How do we talk to our kids about bad things that happen to people? Bad things happened to people in Scripture. Jesus comes to mind. Jesus, in John 16, empathizes with us and He tells us what to expect. While it’s troubling, Jesus tells us that He has overcome the world. Let’s teach our kids and grandkids about that promise and remind them to pray without ceasing.
