There are a lot of kids who have unusual bedtime rituals. I’m sure your kids have them, too. The one thing I regret is giving up those rituals with my kids earlier than I should have. Each night I would follow my kids up to bed, talk about their day, and pray with them before they dozed off to sleep. I’m not sure why those moments stopped, but it seems like it happened about the time they turned teenagers. My advice to you? Keep spending those special moments together with your kids at bedtime even when they don’t necessarily welcome it. Take time telling them a story and talking about issues facing each child. While they may not love it today, they’ll value it when they’re adults.
