Who doesn’t dread getting that 3 AM phone call telling you that one of our kids got in an accident, or we discover drugs in one of our kid’s rooms, or that our son is into pornography or our teen daughter is pregnant at 17? What do we do? I’ve been shocked by one or two of these already. As the grief wells up inside us, we need to be driven to our knees. In the Bible we’re assured that God is faithful. We can lash out in anger at God or our kids. We can question God’s ways. But remember, His ways aren’t always OUR ways. His plans aren’t always our plans. Go ahead, cry. Pour your heart out. David and others did. But never doubt for a minute that God’s got this.
