November is National Adoption Month. As an adoptive family, we've always been open about our daughter's adoption. Many adoptive children grow up constantly wondering about their birth parents. It's normal. Once they turn 18, some even start searching. As adoptive parents, you and I can't be hurt by the fact they need to fill this hole they have in their soul. It's not that they don't love us, or that we're bad parents—they just want to see somebody who looks like them, who may have characteristics like them, or want answers about that important question: why did they give me up? You and I can't get angry or hurt. We have to love, encourage them, and pray.
