Selfishness. All of us suffer from it. Few parents are completely selfless, although I would say there are many who are more selfless than others. As we raise our kids we struggle with different kinds of selfishness. Almost all of us deal with selfish kids. One of my pastor friends said after hearing someone call his kids cute, “They’re cute little sinners.” While it’s funny, it’s also true. Our job as parents is to point out sin and help correct it. Selfishness is one of them. That’s why we teach our kids to share with their siblings and friends. What’s the best Scripture to point them to? Do to others as you would have them treat you. And, all have sinned a fall short of the glory of God, so we need a Savior.
