Isn’t it interesting how our kids grow up behaving just like us? My wife constantly reminds me that my youngest daughter has learned a lot of my behavior. Good AND bad. It’s probably not surprising to you that I’m a little outspoken. Well, guess what? So is my daughter. It’s also interesting that God, in His sense of humor, tends to take our quirky behavior and magnifies it in our kids, making it a bit irritating. As a Christ follower, I understand my honest outspoken behavior, not presented in love, can be sinful. Our kids haven’t always learned that yet. When we confront them about mimicked behavior, comments like, “Well Dad, YOU do it.” That’s when we acknowledge our sinful behavior, ask for forgiveness, and explain how God isn’t finished with us yet, either.
