Negativity. Sometimes it’s contagious. As parents, when we start complaining about life’s circumstances, many times we start seeing our kids do the same. It’s not something we’re taught in the Bible, though. Paul tells us multiple times to give thanks in all circumstances. He also tells us not to grumble. While it’s the beginning of November, I’d like to encourage us as parents and grandparents to start being thankful. Let’s have a month of thanksgiving—not just on Thanksgiving Day. Do this: each night, just before you have prayer with your kids, tell them what you’re thankful for. And then ask them. Grandparents, call your kids and grandkids. Make it different every night. Then, pray and thank God for his blessings.
