Modern day dating probably isn’t for your son or daughter. Physical expectations are too high. Hearts are given away like we do favors for our next door neighbor. What am I encouraging my daughter to do?  Only date those you consider marrying. In fact, I advocate courting: “Under the protection, guidance, and blessing of parents or mentors, the couple concentrates on developing a deep friendship that could lead to marriage.”1 Is it old fashioned? Of course it is, but it’s something that can develop into a healthy marriage relationship and relationship with Christ. What’s Scripture say about it? Hebrews 13:4 says, in part, “Let marriage be held in honor among all” (ESV). Honoring male/female relationships biblically can make all the difference in your life with a future spouse.
