The Bible is pretty clear about its message on work. “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.”1 “In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.”2 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”3 So, here’s the question. Should your teenager work while they’re in school or not? One friend says, “Your only job is to do school. Do it well, and that’s it. Focus on it.” Another friend says, “All kids should have a job so we can train them how to manage their money.” Guess what? There isn’t a right or wrong answer. We’re all different. Bottom line is don’t let anything get in the way of pointing our kids to Christ.
