You love your family. But they’re not followers of Christ—your values are just so different. You want your kids to know their grandparents, but you don’t like the fact that they smoke, cuss, or drink, even though not as much when you’re around. Here’s what Kristin’s family did. When her kids were younger, she was always with her kids while visiting family. Now, as they got older, if sleepovers and camping trips were planned, there were agreements made. No smoking, drinking, or cussing. When there were violations, they calmly talked about them. Be careful not to lose your testimony, though. Speaking the truth in LOVE is key to all of this, which is the only way to see your family come to Christ.
