Your young adult says, “I don’t believe in God anymore.” It hits like a punch to the gut. You raised them in church. They knew the gospel. And now they’ve walked away. What do you do? First, don’t preach—pray. Don’t argue—listen. Then, keep living out the truth with grace and boldness. Romans 1:16 says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation.” Never stop believing in that power. Don’t compromise truth to keep peace. Instead, trust the Holy Spirit to do what you can’t. And don’t underestimate the seeds you planted years ago. God’s Word does not return empty or without result. Keep loving them like Jesus. And keep the door open for their return.
