There are some people who LOVE Christmas carols. Others—I’m not sure why—but they hate any kind of Christmas music at all. Which is really funny when you think some radio stations start playing Christmas music well before Thanksgiving. What’s my favorite? Well, I have two. My family growing up listened to Perry Como and his rendition of “Home for the Holidays,” which was always nostalgic. My favorite carol? “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” especially the part that says, “O come, let us adore Him, / Christ the Lord.” Then, we’ve changed that part of the lyric to say, “We’ll give Him all the glory, / Christ the Lord.” And then, “For He alone is worthy, / Christ the Lord.” For my family, Christmas music formed family traditions and worship, helping us stay focused on the reason for the season: Christ alone.
