Short answer—no! There are no “rules,” but God did give us guidance through His Word. But here’s a new rule my wife and I are using: “Raise your hands and touch your toes. If anything shows, go change your clothes.” Frankly, you and I can have all the rules we want, but if our daughter’s heart isn’t right, it won’t matter. So the important thing is for you and I to point our girls to Christ and let them know they’re valued. Think about this: the most valuable things God made on this earth are all very difficult to get—oil, pearls, gold, and diamonds are all protected.1 You and I need to tell our daughters they’re more valuable. Then ask, “How are you going to protect that?”
