I know someone who seems to attract conflict. I believe she loves Jesus, but she’s a little rough around the edges. She’s the kind of person who really cares about people, but while she speaks the truth, I’m not sure it’s what I would call “love.” For whatever reason she always seems to be involved in conflict in the church. A few years ago we were talking about her relationships with her kids, which wasn’t too good. She said, “My daughter’s always trying to pick a fight with me, point out my flaws.” Then she started pointing out the flaws of a few church members. And I asked, “Is that you or your daughter talking?” Sometimes our kids’ behavior mimics ours. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas of our lives that need work and the wisdom to fix it.
