There are some kids who want it all. I know some adults like that, and you’ll raise some of them if you don’t fix it now. Suggestions? When they’re old enough, teach them 1 John 2, that the things people want in the world pass away, but in Christ, whoever does what God wants will live forever. Also help them understand that craving that they have for more may be trying to fill an emptiness that can only be filled by Christ alone. Then help them learn the value of work, savings, spending. If they want something, like a toy or other wants, give them a job to do. Earn it. When they’re paid, take a tenth or a tithe. The rest for savings and spending money. These are lessons that will last into adulthood.
