Are you as sick of this year’s presidential election as I am? But there is good news. One, it’ll all be over in November. And, two, we can teach our kids lessons by what they’re seeing on TV. How, you ask? Look at the lying and deception that’s going on by the candidates. That’s an opportunity to point out how a person’s word is important. Proverbs 12:19 says, “Truthful lips endure forever ” (ESV). Proverbs 28:13 says, “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper” (ESV). Or how about the anger? Hebrews 12:14 says, “Strive for peace with everyone” (ESV). Pointing out issues in the candidates to our kids gets them interested in the process, but it also teaches them God’s Word at the same time.
