There you are with a difficult three-year-old and a needy one-year-old trapped within the four walls of your home while your husband gets to go out into the exciting world of adults. Not fair? Let me give you a couple of ideas. First, remember—your kids are gonna grow up…and fast. Before you know it, you’ll be looking back on these days thinking, “Oh, I miss those days.” Second, Dads, you absolutely need to care for your kids—by yourself—at least once a week. That way your wife can get away, spend some time with adults, and recharge. Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (NIV). She’ll appreciate it when you allow her to make time for herself.
