I’ve heard that before. Maybe you have, too. If we’re honest, we’re all hypocrites in our Christian walk. None of us can do it perfectly. I also realize that each person’s propensity to sin is different. Some struggle with lying, gossip, lust, materialism, or just bad language. That doesn’t make us any less a follower of Christ—it’s just a reminder of why we need Him so badly. What should we do? Admit it. “I’m a hypocrite because I want to be like Christ, and I don’t act like it sometimes.” Then quote Paul: “For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing” (Romans 7:19 NIV). If Paul struggled, won’t we?
