For some parents, it’s difficult saying no. For others, it’s TOO easy saying no. Well, what kind of a parent are you? I like saying yes, but unfortunately I say no a lot more than I’d like to. Are you the kind of parent who won’t say no because you’re afraid your kids won’t like you? Who doesn’t want their kids to like them? I know I do, but the reality is, if we’re going to be good parents, we’ve got to be willing to say no once in a while—especially in those formative years. If we don’t, our kids will grow up with an entitlement mentality, lacking respect for authority. We can create a monster. Do you have a monster? “No” may be the best medicine. Read Hebrews 12.
