I am not a fan of chores. But I do like projects. I enjoy working with my hands. Gail wrote in suggesting that I talk about how working together with our kids can be fun. That reminds me of a time when my kids were a little younger. My wife was working, and I was at home with the kids. And the kitchen was a mess. I decided it was going to be a family project. And together we washed dishes, dried them, put them way, wiped down the countertops, and swept and mopped the floor. That was part of the fun—I told the kids to get their swimming suits on, and I put soapy water on the floor, and we had an indoor slip-n-slide. What a blast. Spiritual significance? Proverbs 17:22: “A joyful heart is good medicine” (ESV).
