Virtual school IS tough for some. Junior has decided if the teacher isn’t there, he doesn’t have to do the work. Sweet little Katie CAN’T and WON’T sit still. One kid’s hard, but how about four? And how do you do it while you’re working? Well, if you have a compliant and academically thriving child, make sure they’re getting the encouragement they need. They’ll thrive. For strong willed kids, well, give them choices—that aren’t really choices. Like, “Do you want to get online five minutes early to beat everyone, or right on time?” You might have to be the teacher assistant too. Ask other parents for suggestions as well. Oh, and make sure they have social time. They need it and so do we.
