It can be shocking when a holiday movie suddenly features a same-sex couple, especially when kids are watching. How do we handle this from a biblical perspective when they have questions? First, we need to lovingly explain that the Bible teaches homosexuality is a sin—just like lying, gossiping, or stealing. Romans 1:26-27 talks about how people have turned away from God’s design. So how do we explain this to our kids? First, tell them that God loves everyone, and He has a perfect design for marriage between a man and a woman. Second, remind them that sin is real, but God offers forgiveness to all who turn to Him. Encourage open conversation, always pointing them back to Scripture and God’s grace.
